When men start attacking the “grandmothers” of Korogocho at night, Beatrice Nyariara forms a group of women to fight back. Together, the group teaches their community about respect, solidarity, and the inherent value of women’s lives.

Because she doesn’t want to appear on camera, found footage from American culture illuminates her voice as she struggles with her new identity and the reality of not being able to legally drive, work or reside in the U.S. The film shows what it was like to grow up undocumented before DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).
